I’ve been working at Syber for 5 years since I finished high school. Working in multiple environments has allowed me to progress in my skills and experience lots while having a high paying job. I started out as a labor and within a year I was getting hours for my red seal in carpentry as well as time running mobile and tower crane. While learning new things every day and working with some of the newest and advanced formwork systems there is.
Syber is a company that values hard work and commitment, that is constantly moving forward to embrace chances of improvement. I started as site CSO and was given the opportunity to become a Safety Manager. It has been quite an exciting ride, with zero boring days!”

I was hired by Syber nearly 10 years ago, after having my hours cut back at a dead-end job. I was 19 years old and looking for a career that would help myself succeed in the expensive lower mainland. At the time I was fresh out of high school with minimal experience in the trades. Even as a young worker, Syber was quick to realize my potential and helped me progress throughout my apprenticeship. As I settled into my new job, I quickly learned the basics of formwork. From that point my job as an apprentice quickly changed to a job with the layout team. This was my chance to learn how to read blueprints and the methods they use to build these huge projects.
Over the past 10 years, Syber has molded me into an excellent role model for our younger apprentices. This all comes from a strong will to train others and promote within the company. Without the strong leadership of my mentors, I would not be the carpenter I am today. With hard work, Syber can provide a long-term career in an ever-changing industry.
