SITE SUPERINTENDENT

The Site Supervisor is responsible for successfully meeting all project requirements as per plans, budgets timelines and specifications to ensure the quality of all work performed on site meets or exceeds client expectations.

 

Site Supervisors will monitor and report on all daily activities onsite to their Project Managers to ensure the progress of assigned projects on their sites and stay compliant to expected project costs. Site Supervisors will promote and ensure compliance with safety regulations on their sites to ensure standards for safe working conditions are observed

 

Site Supervisors for Syber Concrete Forming Ltd. report directly to a Project Manager regarding assigned projects. This role will:

The Site Supervisor is responsible to:

​Project Oversight

  • Assist the Project Manager in developing a flow chart that includes task timelines to meet project completion date

  • Assist in writing and reviewing scopes of work to ensure accuracy of work as well as labour and materials required are identified for completing the job

  • Develop a detailed materials list for assigned projects as per completed scope of work and approved budget

  • Identify risks and adjust and implement plans accordingly

  • Establish and implement policies and procedures for quality control

  • Report to Project Manager on project details and progress toward milestones

  • Support in the training and general management of all project resources with the support of the Director of Operations

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Supervision

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations

  • Manage and monitor performance of sub-contractors and staff

  • Allocate and coordinate resources, materials, sub-contractors, and other staff

  • Perform site scheduling, logistics, and planning

  • Ensure the quality of all work performed on site

  • Perform troubleshooting and communicate any escalating issues to the Project Manager

  • Oversee the analysis of data and information

  • Sign off on rolling progress expense reports to stay compliant with budgets

  • Prepare work progress reports for their Project Manager

Relationship Management

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with subcontractors and site personnel

  • Maintain good relationship with clients and applicable external stakeholders

Health and Safety

  • Maintain and a uphold a safe and healthy work environment through enforcement of safety standards in coordination with site CSO and the Syber Concrete Forming Safety Manager

  • Identify and promote the Health and Safety requirements of assigned sites and ensure they are met with site CSO

  • Ensure workers are aware of known hazards on all assigned project sites

  • Ensure workers on all assigned project sites have necessary personal protective equipment and that it is used properly, inspected regularly, and maintained

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

A successful Site Supervisor candidate will have the following prerequisite qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • At least 3 years of relevant supervisory experience

  • Experience working with a variety of structures (residential and commercial)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management is an asset

  • Professional and safety-conscious attitude

  • Basic understanding of budgeting and cost controls

  • Basic project management knowledge and implementation

  • Proficiency in MS suite of tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, and OneDrive

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills in English

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize

  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Critical thinking and sound judgement in all situations

  • Resilience and a positive attitude when under pressure

  • Able to work with diverse and challenging populations

  • Able to maintain flexible work schedule including attending evening/weekend events as needed

  • Strong work ethic

  • Valid BC Driver’s License with a satisfactory driver abstract
