EQUIPMENT AND MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN

The Equipment & Maintenance Technician reports to the Yard Manager and is responsible for performing the service, repair, maintenance and upkeep on all equipment at Syber Concrete Forming.

This role is accountable for: 

  • The maintenance and repair of all production equipment

  • The maintenance of a safe, secure, and healthy work environment and complying with all WorkSafe (WCB) procedures/safety practices including on site and company work practices and guidelines

  • Performing other duties as assigned, including truck driving, building maintenance and cleaning when time permits

 

Maintenance & Repair

  • Ensure the timely repair, and manage the preventative maintenance schedules of all company owned equipment and tools

  • When completed, ensure all repairs and maintenance are documented and recorded daily in our in-house HILTI On-track database

  • Maintain all inspection, audit and maintenance records

  • Develop and document maintenance procedures for future reference

  • Identify and setup vendor relationships for all service and parts requirements

  • Establish and implement a maintenance plan for all equipment

  • Organize and perform regular inspection and maintenance of all equipment

  • Identify preferred vendors and gather and validate estimates for external work if required

  • Arrange for repair of equipment by external vendors when required

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 2 years of machinery maintenance and repairs experience

  • Direct experience working on Placing Booms, Scissor Lifts, Electric Pallet Jacks and various other equipment

  • Knowledge and understanding of basic transmission, hydraulics and electrical systems

  • Basic proficiency working with computers to enter data into our in-house database

  • Previous experience working within the concrete forming industry is desirable

  • Knowledge and experience working with Doka and Peri equipment and systems is considered an asset

  • Previous experience using HILTI On-track is considered an asset

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English; verbal and written

  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, multi-task, stay organized and work overtime as needed

  • Ability to work independently with a diverse team, within challenging environments and multiple demands

  • Ability to apply critical thinking and sound judgement in all situations 

  • Ability to be resilient and maintain professionalism and a positive attitude when working under pressure

  • Must have and wear personal protection equipment (PPE), have fall protection gear and the appropriate ticket(s)

  • Must be able to perform physical work including bending, stooping, kneeling, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 50lbs, may climb scaffolding and ladders

  • May need to work outdoors on occasion in adverse weather conditions

  • Must have a reliable means of transportation to job sites

  • Must be reliable and dependable

  • Must maintain a valid BC Driver’s License with a satisfactory driver abstract
